re: The Official Trade Proposal Thread

Trae is definitely someone that needs to be discussed. And it has everything to do with the two man game of Trae and Zion. It helps mask the coaching issues, it helps mask the end of game situations. The Nuggets are so good generally playing off the Murray, Jokic two man. Ja, JJJ….. Fox and Sabonis, and on and on. Simple two man basketball with spacers and cutters playing off of it. It could be seriously dangerous if it all meshed.

Wishful thinking at best. People think teams are going to give away a superstar in his prime for peanuts.
Trae Young is going to get a lot more than you want to believe. This is the same team that wanted a package centered around Herb or Trey for Dejounte.

we could have been doing that all year, but we didn't, despite AD hollering for us to do it every single game. I'm sure Willie could hear him.
I more invision Trae and Allen pick and rolling, with Zion sort of following Trae from behind that way if Trae doesn't have the easy shot or easy lob, he simply sends a bounce pass behind him to a running Zion towards the paint.
That's if Trae is goign to his left.
If Trae goes to his right, you have ZIon on that same right side, but then you can dribble handoff straight to him, which will result in him bulldozing towards the paint, or Trae is faking it to him and getting a wide open layup.

This is True .
Also the other side of the floor matters . Zion would have to like he did down the stretch 100% of the time to help the D . I do not like the idea of your 2 best players being undersized . The game got more physical the second half of the season and in the playoffs this year .
Yall think cj is a poor defender , watch Trae continuously put on a clinic of poor defense . Also Trey stepping in for Brandon is a hit defensively. Bi was a decent defender . Trey is dreadful and does not rebound .
So you would have potentially 3 negative defenders starting together. They would have to be incredibly efficient offensively - a they potentially could be in the regular season .
Lastly , if Willie , goes back to .5 Willie , Trae doesn’t really fit that mold .

This string reminds of the Brandon for Henderson trade before the last draft. Look how that turned out!
If Brandon is a dinosaur then how would you describe a power forward that does not shoot an open ten footer. His defender doesn't leave the paint because Z is no threat ten feet from the rim. Z needs to adjust his game by adding skills and conditioning.
Teams need to be built on skill not athleticism. Look at that dinosaur center from Denver and that slow points from Golden State and Dallas.

Heat: Mitchell, Nance, Levert
Lakers: Butler
Pels: Allen, Reeves, Russel, 2029 and 2031 Laker picks
Cavs: Ingram, Herro, Hachimura, #15, #21, 2025 Pels 1st, 2029 and 2031 Heat 1sts
Cavs get Ingram, Herro and 5 1sts for Allen and Mitchell, while keeping a large chunk of scoring in Mitchell’s spot with Herro
Lakers go all in on Lebron and AD’s final 2 seasons together
Miami puts a superstar next to Bam for the future
Pels get a very good return for BI by getting a capable lead ball handler in Russell and a good bench guard in Reeves while adding a long time target in Jarrett Allen.
ETA: Russell is a throw in for salary purposes, Lakers talk to him and he agrees to opt in to come to Pels. Otherwise Lakers lose him for nothing as he’s said he’s not opting in and wants to leave in FA.

Lol even the Lakers aren't dumb enough to do that.

I will close with the simple fact that 60% on middies is better for your offense and defense than 40% on 3s. Now, back to your regularly scheduled shallow-analytics rageposting.
Nobody shoots 60% on middies, as good as BI is at he shot 48% this past season

Never count out the level of idiocy of the Lakers when a star player comes available. We said the same about the Westbrook deal

For reference, KD and CP3 are considered automatic from the mid range and they generally shoot 54-55% on a really good year.

He’s supremely talented on the offensive end, completely different story on defense. Most teams may not want to deal with that. Hence why he’s be floated around in trade talks now instead of Murray.
What other superstar player you think they are getting for him? Hes a flawed player, so BI might be the best type player they get for him. We have to add firsts or one of our young guys like Hawkins or DD. Not sure what else.
And they were smart to ask for Herb or Trey. We didn’t offer BI, if we did, I’m sure they jump at the chance to trade Murray for him.

Again, wishful thinking. Look at the Donovan Mitchell trade for reference. Even with BI, you are throwing multiple first round picks and players in there with him.

I'm not convinced that Trae Young or Walker Kessler trades would be entertained by their respective teams, but I would trade just about anything to put them around Zion, Herb, and Trey. I'd also love to keep at least 3 of Dyson, Hawk, CJ and Jose on that team, but none would be deal breakers.

Many of you say the last 6 games for BI don't matter. I think the opposite.
I think it cemented the fact that BI is soft as frick and not someone that you can count on.

With as much good ball as ingram has played and with as much coaches in the NBA are confident and cocky, there's definitely a few orgs saying "I can get more out of him"

quote:He said no trades that were retarded. 5 1sts and Hawkins or Daniels for freaking White and Vuc? Are you kidding? Do you think White is the next coming of Magic Johnson?
The Bulls are a mess and looking at a total rebuild this summer. I would target White and Vucevic from them. They combine for about 30M and are locked in for the next two seasons. It would take a pretty big haul to get the Bulls to move White, not so much for Vucevic. A trade of Ingram for White/Vucevic works straight up. But I don't think the Bulls want Ingram. We could find another team to take Ingram, like Philly for picks, then send all of the picks (plus a couple from us) to the Bulls.
So, if we trade Ingram to the Sixers for Reed and 3 1sts (24, 26, 28).
Then we trade those picks, plus our pick in 25 and 27 (we keep Lakers for next year). That is 5 1sts plus Nance/Hawkins or Daniels for White/Vucevic. I believe the Bulls would take that.

Its not “incredibly deeply” low either. We dont need to go on extremes here. Its just not as high as in February but lets not think hes complete garbage now- again you guys need to stop listening to Macnamara.
Even Shamit disagrees with Macnamara on BIs extremely low value.

You made my point for me, Mitchell was a more coveted player and no one of BIs caliber was traded for him. No one wanted Lauri at the time. And the Cavs had been trying to trade Sexton. I was on here pushing the Lauri for Ball trade hard and everyone on here said he was trash and didnt play defense. Now everyone in here wants him lol.

I would love Trae Young on this team. A guy who can dish out 10 assists easily. Here are some clips of guys talking about Trae

Recency bias. A lot of people were down on Mitchell the same way they were down on Young. If they move him, it won't come cheap. It's as simple as that.
