Shocked Harold Perkins projected to be first rounder next year

I'm not saying he doesn't have talent, but based on his overall performance since he arrived at LSU, I was thinking 3/4 round at best. He was unbelievable his freshman season, but last year there were several games he was a total non-factor and the times you did see him, he was of position or missing a tackle.
He also doesn't have a natural position and I'm still not convinced he can LB because he struggles reading what is happening in front of him and reacting in time. Clearly, in high school he was basically a go get the player with ball, but in college and the NFL that doesn't work.

It’s not always about production. Maason Smith didn’t do shite last year and still got taken early in the 2R

He’s a physical freak who has shown sparks of being elite against sec play as a freshman….
Why are you shocked? Teams took a gamble on Maason smith for being physically gifted with not so good film

He has unbelievable talent. It’s not always about production, but projection. Plus… you obviously aren’t giving NFL scouts much credit if you don’t think they can clearly see that he was mis-used and under coached last year.

Lololol where do you idiots come from

Maason has prototypical size. Harold's production isn't an issue but his size will be a legit concern for the NFL. If he's in the barely 230 range not every team will think he fits their scheme.

His numbers were nearly identical to his freshman year look it up

And the snap count difference in those years? He basically didn’t play until the ole miss game in year 1

Deion Jones is a pretty slight LB and he is in like year 7 in the NFL. Perkins is more talented than Debo.

Teams also do not value off ball linebackers right now, even tho I think that’s insane.

Have you seen him play??
He is probably the most physically gifted guy on the field in every game he’s played.
Freshman season he was just playing off instinct, sophomore season he played 4 different positions and was trying to figure it out. I think we’ll see huge improvement in the middle this year

I'm really excited to see what Baker tries to do with Perk this year.
A season can make a world of difference. I'm choosing to lean on the optimistic side with how he's gonna be used and anticipating him being a serious problem for offenses.

This clip tripped me out because I saw the QB actually having to scramble from a pass rush and couldn't immediatly fire it down field because nobody was wide open by 15 yards.
Feels like forever ago.

He was good for at least one big play per game. It's obvious he is physically gifted, and has instincts. Just look at how he ran down Milroe last season (the penalty was complete bs). It doesn't take a draft guru to understand the guy is a stud. Unfortunately, he played on a bad defense.
