Imagine Caitlyn Clark saying that her white coach understands the things she been through as a white basketball player.
The point would be to NOT freak out about THAT, not to ALSO freak out about THIS.

I wonder, would they have an interview and write a story with Caitlin Clark speaking out on having a caucasian coach in the WNBA?
This is just part of the whole woke/DEI movement in this country that makes me want to move to remote Alaska and completely disconnect with society.

symmetrical concept?
Let me help you out. The word you’re looking for here is “commensurable.”

Brilliant
Compared to you? Uh, yeah.

Seriously answer this question. What if Caitlin Clark or HVL played for a black coach previously, and then plays for another team who has a white coach. And then she makes that’s same statement of “playing for someone who looks like me” how do you think that would go over?
There’s no question that there’s a double standard. That still doesn’t make Reese wrong to say what she said. And it certainly doesn’t excuse LSU “fans” who react with hateful comments towards her.

If I didn't know any better I would have thought Angel was missing an eye, had a second head, or some other rare shite like that.

In a shocking turn of events, you’ve topped yourself! Who the frick would choose “commensurable” over “proportional” if they did intend that meaning?
My point was that Garrett Nussmeier has no problem finding white male QB coaches, while there are much fewer black female basketball coaches (at the highest levels of each sport, respectively). You can’t just flip the situation on the race axis, hence a lack of symmetry.
“Minority” is a word you could ponder at your leisure.

like she did in college and high school?
to be fair i do think Clark received a decent amount of race based hate, but pretending that a black athlete who constantly gets recital coded hatred thrown at her may enjoy a black mentor who understand the world she lives in the same way as her isn’t understandable is fricking asinine
you all know why you hate her. It’s not because she said anything bad about Mulkey. because she didn’t.

I like her but I’ll probably never watch a wnba game. shite I don’t even know when they play or any of the teams
Posted on 5/9/24 at 3:16 pm to mtb010
Then do it. No one is stopping your dumbass from making radical life changing decisions because you make shite up in your head and won’t just get medicated for your clear paranoia and schizophrenia. Lmao

Because those words don’t mean the same?

Her high school coach was black. Do you think black basketball coaches are a rarity or something? Especially for someone who lived in Baltimore?
Angel is supposed to be a professional now, not a young child who needs guidance from someone who “looks like her.” Did you care what race your boss was when you became a professional?

pay coach Mulkay tons of money to coach Chicago
The highest paid coach in the WNBA makes $1 million per year.
The salary cap for an entire WNBA roster is $1.46 million
The highest paid WNBA player gets $252,000
LSU just gave Mulkey a 10 year extension worth around $36 million. The WNBA can't afford her. College is where the money is at in women's basketball

You can definitely tell who the real racists are in this thread, which is the posters defending this crap.
What she said is absolutely racist. All of you defending her as if it was nothing....would be absolutely destroying Nuss if he said the same thing about BK. "Man, I just love playing here, and getting to play for a white coach...he looks like me and I can relate to him". I can't even begin to imagine what this board would be like if Nuss had said this...but obviously he wouldn't do that he actually has brains. I'm not surprised by her saying it though. She appears to have a low iq and probably one of the ugliest shots I've ever seen by anyone that is supposed to be a star.

even if you want to pretend you’re not racist, you’re going to also then pretend no one else hates her because they’re racist?
ok. sure thing, Dunbarton.

Will be a bust, no doubt. Can't run or jump. Gimmick player

She’s in the exact same system. It couldn’t have worked out better for her. T Spoon played for Mulkey at Tech. I don’t think she’s throwing shade at Coach Mulkey at all.

Privileged life? Angel's father left them when they were little and never heard from him again. Who knows where he is now. Angel's mother worked 2 jobs to raise 2 kids and make sure sure they were involved in multi-sports so they would stay out of trouble. Angel and her brother spent a lot of time at the community center. Angel received an athletic scholarship at St Francis HS, because her mother couldn't afford sending her there. St. Francis was across the street from a prison. They didn't live in a slum area, but they did not have privileged, comfortable life either. Her mother was a single mother who worked 2 jobs, and was involved in her 2 kids activities. It was not an easy life for her mother. Angel recognizes the sacrifices that her mother made. Her mother received an athletic scholarship at a small college in MD, because she couldn't afford college.

You are either stupid, or racist, or both. I know that you are racist. There is no way to look at it and trying to defend this bs is typical. No way the same thing goes ok if you swap two whites for her and her coach.
As for her, I never thought she was a good basketball player, she was just a bruiser in there rebounding. Worst shot I've ever seen. I also think she has zero class.....and that is why I don't like her. It has nothing to do with race.
