All of them as well as Kling, maybe Jump and Milazzo. Will be tough sledding again offensively next year

Damn. Jump and Herring are definitely impact players. shite.

Kling getting drafted? Are there any projections out yet?
Posted on 5/9/24 at 9:38 am to Riolobo
someone will take a flyer on Kling solely due to athleticism and tools

I sure hope a major league team is foolish enough to draft Kling...hopefully he signs.....Now if only Neal was draft eligible!!

MLB has out their top 150 draft prospects and Kling is not in it.
Tommy White is 16
Luke Holman 56
Gage Jump 65
Thatcher Hurd 101
Jared Jones 116
Kling's decision will be based on if he will bet on himself to improve this offseason similar to how he bet on himself out of high school instead of going straight to the draft.
Jones will be the most interesting to keep an eye on.

Let me preface this by saying that I think Jones is gone, but the growth between year 1 and year 2, if he were to somehow build on that by coming back for a 3rd year….geez. Add to that the fact he has been an absolute wall at 1st base and I would think you would have to start projecting him in the top 20 similar to Kurtz from WF.
That’s the only hope I think we have, if it even makes a difference. Project can speak better on that

A lot of people think of NIL for incoming players in the draft to make a difference. This situation is perfect for NIL. If Jones gets taken at pick 116 like his ranking that is signing bonus of around 575-600K. You work up an NIL to counter that and have the talking point you mentioned of telling him if he can improve just a little more and be able to hit .300 plus in SEC play with another season having 20-25HRs then he can jump into the 1st round.
That is why I said his situation will be interesting to follow.
He already passed on money coming out of high school and he will also still have leverage after next season as far as the draft goes.

Great point. Would be huge if we could keep him 1 more year.

nope to all of them...
maybe Jump, but he would be stupid to go if hes not drafted top two rounds, he could go top 2 rounds next year as the Ace...
same with Herring, hes gonna get a weekend job next season.
Little should go if he continues what he is doing.

Man if he comes back watch out. I didn’t even think of the NIL possibility.
Posted on 5/9/24 at 11:12 am to TigerFan55555
Jump will very likely be top 2 rounds.
Little doesn't have a choice. He is a senior.

If Jones is smart he’ll stick with LSU another year or so and keep developing his hitting skill!

You said nope to all of them, three of which had qualifying statements attached, one of which can't come back anyway. And then added a qualifying statement to the one guy that's a near lock to go pro.
Jump was projected in 2nd round territory before he even really turned it on. He's only improving his stock now.
Do you actually look at any of this or are you just talking out of your arse as an lsu "fan" that has no context for the larger baseball universe within which we sit?

I could see Herring staying another year. Atleast I really hope he does
saw he was ~133 ranked player in the draft. give him another year, maybe a starting role and he could get himself into the top 10-20

Jay better get the NIL on board and talk to Herring, Jump and Jones about staying. Unless they are going 2nd round or less they need to stay and get better.
