Most small stuff I can do myself so maybe my perception is skewed but last two times I’ve been in for our 10 yo Acadia it’s been $1700 and $2500.

We have several drivers and my work is flexible so I was able to deal with it but combined the expense with lost work, ect and having an unreliable car is not worth the risk for people who work for a living.

so 4200 bucks over ten years? That’s 420 dollars a year. How many miles do you have on that ten year old vehicle? do you ever spend 400 bucks on a single elective expense in a given year?

I don’t think most people understand how miraculous it is that they can just hop in a complicated machine any time they want and transport themselves dozens or hundreds or miles away without any effort on their part
