Paxton Kling and the phrase “playing time at LSU”, should never be in the same sentence.

Neil is a terrible defensive catcher

Getting on base is great if we have someone behind him that can hit him in or advance him. The problem is we don’t . He was supposed be one of our guys that can hit runners in. We need more power hitters in the lineup like we had in Dugas, jobert, and beloso last year. Hell even Thompson had pop in his bat. He had 2 homers including a grand slam against Kentucky last year. Kling with all his at bats this year has 1 home run. One!!! That’s just not gonna help win you many games.

Kling avg only .217 but his ob avg is over .400 (which is higher than Tanks)
LSU needs Kling to be better in SEC play. That’s the bottom line. He hasn’t produced in conference play. LSU needs a few more players to step up or the season will end very soon.

Point Thompson making is he’s a on base freak
He ranks 8th on the team in OBP.
These are just stats that indicate he doesn't lead off much in the SEC except for the bottom of the conference (Missouri and Auburn). He also starts more in the non-conference games.
