Hear me out. We play like we did this past weekend there is no reason we can’t go 5-1 over the last two series. As tough as this year has been we still at this point have everything in front of us.

We need to win tonight, I am not sure but could we undue some of the good we did this weekend if we lose tonight?

Would be awesome, but I will be shocked if we pull it off.

Possible, but 4-2 would be a reasonable goal. Good that we are now playing well but unfortunately we dug ourselves quite a hole the first half of the SEC season.

They had better take care of tonight. Losing to this mediocre team would seriously damage the RPI.

I don't know if we go 5-1 or 4-2 (probably best case), but I think it matters how we win those games. Beating Bama on the road 2 out of 3 would be nice. But so would sweeping Ole Miss at home. Maybe not as beneficial RPI-wise as the Ole Miss series would be at home and you get less for winning at home, but because we have the same SEC record and sweeping them would guarantee we finish ahead of them.

I know nothing about RPI, KPI, or what the committee likes more (along with the other metrics). But is 4-2 better if we win both series because it will have been 5 straight series wins or would winning 1 in Tuscaloosa and sweeping Ole Miss at home be best. No matter how we get to 5-1, I don't think it matters, it's enough. It's the 4-2 and how we get there that I have no idea about. Road games vs. home games and also competing against teams with similar SEC records.

4-2 is best case scenario. Must win Game 1 at Bama. Time to put up or shut up. Play each game like its game 7 of the CWS. I'm going to the game tomorrow.

But can we win a Sunday game? Either weekend. We get beat by bad teams on Sunday. Amazing how Hurd and ack or the rest of the staff can’t pitch worth a shite this year. Never thought I would say this but little has looked the best of the bunch of late

5-1 is only possible if we win today and tomorrow. Bama hasn't lost it's last 4 Sundays and have scored 10+ in 3 of them.

We, on the other hand, we are 1-7 on Sundays in SEC play (at Mizz)

Frankly, we could go 6-0. But that is unlikely, 5-1 is also unlikely but not unreasonable. I'd say 4-2 is the most likely scenario but I am not sure how that comes about. If we sweep a series, Ole Miss is more likely than Alabama.

Simply taking a road series vs a higher RPI school like Bama (13) would be huge for LSU who is now at 35.

Ole Miss is at 27 and playing A&M. I think if they even win 1 game it may help their RPI(folks who understand how it's calculated, please let me know if this is correct or not), if they somehow win the series they will bump up into being a potential Q1 series for LSU.

A very interesting end to the season for LSU to say the least. I must say, I prefer the mundane concerns of if we will host a superregional rather than if we will even get to the NCAAT.

Bama believes the same thing and they got us at their house. They will play their best all season this series against us. It will be hard af to win.
