Luka Doncic should win MVP

Luka Doncic should be the NBA MVP this season. There are a multitude of reasons why it should be him.
Let’s start off with the fact he’s the scoring leader, who averaged 34 PPG this year. On top of that he finished second in assists at nearly 10 per game. He’s the best rebounding guard in the NBA with over 9 per game, 15th overall in the league. 34, 9, 10 per game is absolutely mind boggling and I think tends to get downplayed for some reason because it’s Luka.
Luka’s Points Responsible for per game, was the second most ever in a single season, right behind Wilt, when he averaged 50 PPG.
Luka’s step back 3 may be the most unstoppable move by a player in the NBA when he’s on. He made 284 3’s this season.
Luka just had his best defensive season ever, averaging 1.5 steals per game. A better way to tell how good his defense was overall this season though, would be to look at advanced metrics. Luka was Top 10 in the league in lowest FG% allowed inside of the paint this season. If you take this metric out to the perimeter, Luka was just outside the Top 10 in lowest FG% allowed outside of the paint as well.
The Mavericks dealt with a crazy amount of injuries during the regular season. They didn’t have a good amount of role players in place until the trade deadline when they acquired Gafford and Washington. Once their team got healthy, and Washington and Gafford were acclimated in Dallas, the Mavericks finished the regular season at 16-4. 2 of these 4 losses were the last games of the season where they benched everyone.
It’s ridiculous to say the Mavericks record was not good enough for him to win MVP. Take away Luka from this Mavericks team and they are a 30 win team. They still won 50 games in a contested Western Conference while dealing with injuries, and not having 2 of their better players most of the season, Gafford and Washington.
Steve Nash won 2 MVP’s over Kobe, Derrick Rose won an MVP over Lebron, while the other players mentioned had much better statistical seasons. Russell Westbrook’s MVP, came during a season where the Thunder won 47 games, so to start pulling out arguments saying Luka doesn’t deserve it because of his team is outlandish.
Luka is the real MVP of the NBA.

It’s amazing how whitey is taking over basketball.

Enjoy it because Ant and Wemby are about to restore order

Edwards won’t ever be what Luka is.

Just like last year they won’t let a white man win this again.

Ant is going to win the most important one. The Playoffs and Playoffs MVP

Luka is better than SGA at every single aspect of the game of basketball outside of perimeter defense and free throw percentage. SGA is a foul merchant, averaging most PPG off free throws.
Take away every free throw in the NBA and SGA’s scoring goes from 2nd to 7th in the league.

You're right he's going to be a winner.

So many lies. Luka has taken more free throws than SGA every year they've been in the league. Embiid averages the most PPG off free throws. And Shai averages 7.6 ftm per game compared to 6.8 for Luka. Not even a one point difference.
Luka turns the ball over twice as much as Shai and Shai has a better fg%.
Also Shai leads the NBA in steals, he's a much better defensive player than Luka.

No it goes from 4th to 5th. Scary that your post where everything you said is wrong got so many upvotes. Thought some of y'all might know ball around here but I guess not.

This is a blatant lie. SGA has taken more Free Throws than Luka the past 2 seasons.

SGA averaged 8.7 Free Throws per game this season. SGA averaged 10.9 Free Throws per game last season.

Wow. It’s almost as if Luka made 180 more 3 pointers than SGA this season.

He’s a better defender, but not by a large margin. He’s not a better paint defender. If you look up just steals to say he’s better, that’s not a great argument.
Did you look up playoff statistics?
It’s hilarious you called me out for “lying” and your post is filled with numerous made up statistics to fit your narrative.

Ant is a tremendous player, but he’s starting to get overhyped now.
A couple great playoff games, and all of a sudden Ant Edwards is the best player in the NBA.
Jokic is better. Luka is better. SGA is better. Giannis is better.
Luka has BEEN dominating the playoffs for multiple seasons now. But people love to be prisoners of the moment and crown the next GOAT.

Four more wins and he'll do more than Luka ever has.
Not to mention being the better player on the court.

Ant is nothing like harden in playstyle or attitude.
Will he ever be MVP or win a championship? i dunno. I think so, but I dunno.
But his comparison is as far from harden as you can get.
He's a two way player and plays excellent defense. he's a hyperathletic 2 way sg, compares more to dwade than harden. He also cares about winning more than stats or partying like harden.
If anything, luka plays more like harden than any other current player. ball dominant chubby point who playmakes but mainly iso's? no defense. puts up insane triple double stats but doesn't win shite. Who's that sound like?

Except for when Luka and the Mavericks lost to the Warriors in the WCF in 2022 right?

Let me guess, you saw a couple great playoff games from ANT and deemed him better than Luka?
Luka averages more PPG, RPG, APG, SPG, has a better FG% and 3Point%. This is a laughable take from you.

No, with 4 more wins he'll at least have taken a Conference Finals to 6 games-- something Luka has never done.

No. I've actually watched them, particularly over time-- the separation is obvious, and growing as Ant expands his role into taking over playoff games in a way Luka has, at his peak, done against....how shall we put it-- playoff suspect Clippers teams.
Numbers make Wilt greater than Russell, by this logic-- but their peers knew better.
