You do know that once you hit troop level that the sexes are separated, right?

It does not matter what the curriculum states. I am talking about how events like campouts are coordinated.

Because there are fewer girls - the administrative (volunteer) parents spend an inordinate amount of time catering to the needs of the few.

When you finally get two moms who will commit to going on a camp out - one has a family emergency and can’t go. Then you can’t only go with one mom because you have to have two adults at all times. (Good rule to keep out the pervs).

So guess what??

The entire campout gets modified or cancelled.

But that is just my opinion from a decade in local Boy Scout leadership including Scoutmaster. Maybe I don’t understand how girls in Boy Scouts is better for everyone.

Maybe the hundreds of young men that I tried to challenge and encourage their character development don’t need it. Don’t need to: learn how to take care of yourself, your environment, and your fellow man. How to be a leader. How to love unselfishly. How to develop a clear vision and not let hardship deter you. Some of these principle apply to both sexes but there are no organizations speaking to the heart of young men. We think differently and need to learn differently.

I left scouting when I had a district representative tell me it was not a good idea to pray with these young men. I let them know every lesson I taught was rooted in truth and my only motivation was for their benefit.
