I have a buddy of mine that sells multiple lawn mower brands including Bad Boy. He recently got in several Bad Boy Bandit’s in both the 550 and 750 models. Anyone here know anything about them? He was saying how nice they were but he’s also a salesman. I didn’t know they had ventured into the side by side market. I am in the market for a new one and he quoted me $12K for the 750 model. Comes standard with a HD front bumper, 3500lb winch and gas adjustable shocks.

I wouldn't buy one with YOUR money.

Just buy a ranger 1000 and be done with it.

John Deere and Kawasaki have both been using a Chery engine, from China, for years. It's been very reliable.

The Polaris is what I was looking at originally but the cost of one is through the roof. I will say I haven’t made it to the point of going to look at them, but building one on the Polaris site was a little over $20K.

Did you end up buying the Bad Boy Bandit if so how has it been? I am currently trying to figure out if I want a new Bandit or used Honda or Polaris.

I called the dealer and they said all parts for this bike are purchased from Bad boy and not a company in China. It does look almost idenitcal to the Hisun Sector though. I would asume it is protty much the same bike.

Two things are guaranteed re: Polaris; you’ll get a smooth ride and you’ll be spending greenbacks to fix issues with either electrical, belt and/or cv boots.

I actually did a lot of the original R & D for them back in 2004 and 2005. The units weren't bad but back then their weak point was the electrical components. I could get any of the manufacturers I worked with back then except TGB to understand just how bad these machines were going to be abused. Previous posters would be correct about the drive trains though. Stock units were fine, lifted with oversize tires and you have axle snappers.

The unit sold at Lowe's is a HiSun product.

More than likely from the Shanghai General Motors plant. We brought in some "mini-trucks" built by SGMW that were bullet proof. We stopped bringing them in though because people wouldn't keep them off the damn highway and they hadn't got through DOT crash testing.

The main company I worked for, TGB built a fine ATV. It's as goot as any out there. They sell the hell out of them in Europe and Australia. I tried to get them to get into side by sides way back in 2004. You could see the market shifting form atvs to utvs.

They never did but they do build the engine for the Mahindra 1000cc unit. I miss those days, it was fun to go to work back then.
