For anyone wondering, the “lightwhip” was introduced in a comic in 1985. They’re canon and were shown in Clone Wars, among some other canon things. Some think the Praetorian Guards “chain whip” is a modern lightwhip.

Excuse me for not being specific enough for someone as stupid as you. When they announced they'd be looking at the High Republic era in a show, I was very excited.

the “lightwhip” was introduced the same year the original movie came out, 1977.

What I said was accurate and I stand by it. I was very excited when they announced they were making a show in the High Republic era. When they announced this specific show and the people who would be involved, it became clear it would be garbage.

Sorry that's hard for you to grasp. I do think it's interesting that you didn't link the thread you're attempting to call me out for though. Why is that?

I know it’s your reflex to defend Disney but this is a weird tactic

He realizes he can no longer defend it. Just look for acolyte threads on this board. Dude is puking out his guts to defend this show at every turn. It's really weird that he would want people to look those threads up and makes it clear why he didn't link one.

For those of us old enough to remember when Star Wars first came out back in '77, and saw on screen those iconic words...

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

That should be the guide by which all else in Star Wars is measured. That is how fans were 1st introduced to this story.

Yet look at what we're getting now. This trash which pretends to be Star Wars.

Disney Star Wars is nothing but high priced fan-fic made by ideologically driven tourists who are hell bent on self-inserting themselves & The Message into the franchise.

And sadly, it's not alone in that regard.

Do you? Really? And that changes the trash that's posing as Star Wars on screen...how?

Incorrect.

Makes sense. By this point we already knew this would be a "female-centric" Star Wars show.

Try again.

ETA: Pretty telling that you left out a key piece of my post that you quoted:

quote:

It was clear from the moment this was announced that this show wasn't going to be worth watching. It's sad that this will be the first look into the High Republic era.

I'll add the link since you'll probably delete it. LINK

Huh. I guess you did. Your criticism makes even less sense given the full quote, so go off I guess.

This project was announced prior to that. Just didn't initially have a name. They announced they were doing a High Republic project prior to naming it and assigning the director (which happened in 2021). Then they also started a comic series to build background before the show. This era has always intrigued me and I was very excited until the show was officially announced as a female-centric series.
