Saying which coach is “better” among elite coaches is getting so old. Jay has done much more in his career than Vitello. With that being said, Vitello is still an elite coach and anyone who says otherwise is just fooling themselves.

I guess it just depends on what the meaning of elite coach means. Without a definition any person who has not ever won a national championship, who has not ever come close to winning a national championship, could be called elite.
