re: The NBA superstar team up era is ova

I've only considered superteams when you have 3 all-NBA caliber players on the same team. 2 great players do not make a superteam. So no, the Lakers are definitely not a superteam. The only borderline superteam we had this season was the Suns. But Bradley Beal shouldn't even count. He had 2 great seasons on a terrible 30-win Wizards team, but other than that he has done nothing in his career. The Bucks were never close to being a superteam. Neither were last year's 76ers.
I will say that this Thunder core has the chance to become really special. SGA is already a superstar at like 24. Jalen WIlliams and Chet are emerging stars and they're only in year 2.

It feels a bit early to put Jokic up there. But if he wins the championship this year, it would be very hard to not put him in that conversation. 3 MVPs, 2 Finals MVPs by itself would be very hard to not place him in that top ten conversation imo.

You consider those superstar/elite stats??

Warriors recruiting KD was as much about not risking him going to a contender as it was him playing with them

Lebron/AD
I guess it was cool for Magic, Bird, and Kobe to have great centers as teammates but heaven forbid Lebron has one.

wut? 2017-2018 he averaged 18.5/10.7/6.1 shooting 50/40/85....as a center

So Jokic does not get put into the category with Bird, Magic, MJ, Kobe, Lebron realm because he's only been doing it for about 4 years; yet no concern about putting Wemby in that realm in 2-3 years when at that point he would have been playing for 4 years

I remember that Kevin Durant was easily the best player on the Warriors team. I also remember that Durant was the Finals MVP on those championship teams. Seems others saw what I did.
More selective memory I see.

GOAT arguments have to be based on tangible data and things that have already happened, not projection. Jokic has a long way to go and Wemby even further.
Jokic didn't come in lighting the world on fire his first few years so he needs like 8 more first-team NBA seasons and at least 2 more rings to even warrant a part in the discussion.
Wemby staying healthy long enough to enter the chat is an even longer shot than Jokic, even though his ceiling and ability to impact a game are on par with the GOAT names.

I’m not much of a stats guy. I’m more of an eye test guy and I feel comfortable in my prediction Wemby will change the way the game is played.
How do you account for this clip below with stats?

With a big ol "if he can stay healthy" qualifier, naturally.
I'm not convinced that someone with his size/build/playstyle can have a long, illustrious career. If he can stay on the court, look out.

That’s always the concern with guys his size. But he seems to be proportionally skinny. Some dudes look sickly. He is skinny, but you can see there is some muscle there. I’m pulling for a KD-like maturation of his body. He runs pretty fluid too.

No one is saying they weren’t better with him. What posted actually proves my point. He was capable of taking over a series and they were the best team without him so why risk it.

One of the takeaways could be that KD and Harden are cancers, Warriors would’ve won those without KD btw
No chance. They were never beating LeBron and Kyrie again without KD.
