What's your disability? Lemme guess, fibromyalgia?

Are you implying fibromyalgia is not a disability? My wife has dealt with it for the last 8 years, luckily my income is more than enough to support us but if she was on her own, she wouldn't be able to hold down a full-time job. I wouldn't wish that illness on anyone when I see what it has done to my wife

Your wife likely has untreated or undertreated depression or anxiety contributing to her fibromyalgia. If emotional symptoms aren't adequately dealt with they will find a way to manifest themselves physically. I'm not saying this as any form of attack on your wife, I just see this often with my patients. Treat the emotional and the physical will likely improve. Good luck!

I am sorry for your wife but the term is literally translated to bad fibers. There is no reasonable way to diagnose or actually treat. It is a varying constellation of complaints with no know origin or cure

No one in medicine believes fibromyalgia is a real disease. It’s the term providers use when you say you have chronic pain and there is no obvious cause. We used to just call that getting old or being depressed but now it’s fibromyalgia.
