Stardew Valley by leaps and bounds. I've put endless hours into it. The depth of the systems and characters is insane.
Animal Crossing is good. The biggest knock I have on Animal Crossing is the curse that many Nintendo games have-- too much fricking dialogue.
That being said, I might finally get a Switch 2 this fall and if there's a new Animal Crossing I'd probably give it a go.

I’ve put hundreds of hours into both and they’re both amazing games. Animal Crossing is a much slower burn if you play it as intended (no time skipping) which makes it much more rewarding. Plus I like the art style more than Stardew Valley.
That being said, I prefer playing Stardew Valley over AC. Mainly because of the characters and stories you can play. Plus you’re not hindered by IRL time.

Are there like mods and stuff on PC, I have Stardew on switch and I don't really understand how people can put so many hours in it. After a while you have unlimited money and you can buy everything you want, just a matter of messing around with the caves for a bit until there's nothing left to do.

While there are, I did a fairly completionist play through prior to patch 1.5 and put in about 250 hours. Considering that patch 1.5 focused significantly on end game content, I imagine reasonable single play through is now considerably longer than that, and that's not even taking into consideration multiple play throughs using the more "difficult" farm types.

Animal crossing looks better. Stardew valley is a much deeper experience. It’s like a polished version of harvest moon on steroids.
