Some of these firms are technically buying these houses with your retirement money. I bet your 401K has money tied up in a few REITs

Let it drop. I've lost before and I'll lose again. If corporations were allowed to fail, maybe the ones that survive would be investing their money responsibly with appropriate risk ratios. Now they can do whatever consequences be damned.
