There was a time when civil debate was a vehicle for communication… a chance to moderately educate oneself to both sides of most issues.
Now , there is no trustful communication because the politicians and media have blatantly lied to the point where only 6% of Americans polled trust the media on political discussion …. and I suspect even less trust with politicians.
Not much trustful communication in an anonymous platform either …. you just need to exercise the common sense once in awhile.
It’s good to take a break from your phone now and then (one of the reasons I love playing golf) and it’s even better to disconnect from the MSM, especially when on vacation.
Just my dos centavos…

Politicians and the media aren’t why grown men on this board immediately resort to pejorative name calling and insults when someone disagrees with them in this message board.
