Baton Rouge attorney Mary Olive Piersen represents East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor Pro Tem Lamont Cole, who is among those who filed suit to block St. George.

Pierson says she will file the request for a rehearing before the May 10 deadline to do so.

It is rare for the Louisiana Supreme Court to grant such a request.

Pierson says the request will include multiple issues for the state’s highest court to reconsider. She did not elaborate on what those issues are.

Supporters of St. George said Monday they believe they are entitled to taxes collected from their area over the past five years, the time period that St. George was tied up in a legal fight.

Organizers of St. George laid out their next steps Monday coming off a State Supreme Court decision.
Pierson said, if that is the case, she believes the parish should be paid back for any services and improvements the parish provided during that time frame.

“Money is a two-way street,” she said. “If you want your money back, well, give us our assets back.”

Man she seems real pleasant.

MOP does not represent the city. She represents Lamont Cole as a private citizen. But her using this kind of terminology she basically shows that this suit was filed by proxy for the city.

This all but ensures that Ted James will be the next mayor-president. Sharon is digging herself deeper.

I’d take that deal right now. It’s a fair one and I know SG would come out way, way ahead.
