man that's some negativity.
Yeah this is just silly forecasting. A lot of this is matchup based and you don’t really know unless you get in series healthy. For instance people thought wolves would struggle against suns- that didn’t happen. You can’t just sit there and say we suck against everyone.

Fully healthy, we'd be competitive with anyone.
It's not negativity, it just is what it is.
No chance we're favored against any of those teams, and we aren't beating over half of them.

If I'm the Pels, I'm going after Sexton, Halliburton, Murray or Fox in offseason. Center a package around BI.

If I said we'd beat 4 of the top 7 teams, you wouldn't have replied saying it's silly forecasting, and you don't really know how we'd do, and that I can't just is there and say we'd beat over half the teams...you wouldn't have said any of that.
But again, there's no way you or anyone believes we would be favored against any of the top 7 teams, and while the games aren't played by Vegas, that is still pretty darn telling. I mean, we just played the entire season with Zion healthy and still were a plan in team, so it's not the crazy take you folks think it is.

Its silly forecasting based on regular season results, your own personal opinion and what Vegas would think.
The forecasting is silly regardless if its positive or negative because of the factors you’re using. Regular season results are maybe the only thing thats logical to use but even that has so much variance- back2back, injuries, gameplanning, etc.
Yes we’re in a play-in team but theres also only a 8 game gap between us and the number one seed. And yes Vegas determines nothing so its not telling at all.

Posting this because it lists NOP as close odds to Thunder. And you never know what Presti will do he is very Fort Knox like with info so if he doesn’t go after him it leaves NOP as clear favorite.

We need at least 2 volume shooters with Zion
Yep. The PG you bring in has to be just as good as CJ as a shooter but a better ball handler….if only there were rumors a certain NBA team wanted to part with a player that fit that exact profile…..

No way in hell Indy trades Halliburton. I doubt Fox is available either but he's more likely than Halliburton.

Without Zion I don't think we could beat any of the playoff or playing teams in a 7 game series, including Sacto.
With Zion, I think we could be beat: Sacramento, Clippers, and maybe GS.
I think Dallas, Denver, LAL, Minnesota, Phoenix, OKC, probably take us out.

As we should be.
We didn't take the step that Minny or OKC did this year.
We aren't goign to be the favorites over the defending champs, and with how Dallas was playing to close the season they are probably favorites over anyone except Denver.
And the Clippers are full of veterans made for the playoffs. They'll be favorites over OKC if they play them.
The Lakers would have been favorites over OKC or Minny.
You forget we are still a very young team with hardly any playoff experience. No one was expecting us to win a championship this year. We'd all have liked to won a first round series, but simply playing a competitive series, fully healthy, was going to be a boost for us going into next year.

Best player was healthy. All other top 5 pieces played at least 57 games.
Being a play in team is pretty damning, to the point where it tells me we simply cannot return the same core group next season, that just doesn't make sense.

I agree we should not return the same core mainly because they dont fit or play well together.
The play-in argument though- I don’t know- again 8 games between us and #1 seed. Everything was pretty close together. We’re 2 games removed from 5 seed. I mean if we’re a 5 seed like Dallas does that mean everything works?

There's only, at most, 2 teams in the top 10 even a healthy Pels team would be favored to beat in a 7 game series.
Even accepting that as true, the top of the west is very flat right now. There is no team, other than maybe Denver, against whom I think a healthy Pels team just can’t win. And I think that goes for most of the 8 western playoff teams this year.
So that to me is the argument for not blowing it up this offseason. A healthy pelicans team has a puncher’s chance to beat anyone in the west. Not sure it’s a good argument but a healthy Pels team isn’t a hopeless western contender atm.
