911's are dead reliable, and have the best resale of any car going.

BMW's 5 Series is the best driving sedan made, and the SUV derivative is outstanding as well. Both are very reliable. This has not only been my experience, but friends as well. Year-over maintenance costs will obviously be more than a Corolla, but...

Audi, M-B; not so much.

I’ve had Audis for the last 15 years. The wife drives BMW for the last 5-6 years. Never an issue outside of scheduled maintenance. Last Audi went for 158k.

More often than not, it’s how you take care of your shite.
