What would you do to your daughter for being an utter arse and instigating the incident?

Agreed. All you simply have to do to determine the “tone” of the situation is the cop’s demeanor. No patience, no restraint, full of piss vinegar and aggression. The name of the game is discretion. Abuse of that discretion leads to trouble for them over and over and over.

I’ve had the thought pop into mind a few times as I walk out my back door on a dark night that if I were a person who was out to right a wrong that I’d caused, that dark area just beyond the reach of your outdoor lights, where it’s impossible to see due to background shadowing, right at the far edge of your yard……that’s the place that would worry me about an ambush. Then right back into the darkness. Not necessarily gun play, but bum rushing with a bat or something like that. My point is that I’m surprised that sort of thing doesn’t cross their minds as a deterrent.

For all of the experts on this board, what is the appropriate action for an officer if the driver refuses to identify herself and refuses to provide a driver's license and refuses to exit the car? Not saying that this girl did that, just a hypothetical.

This version of the video breaks down what happened in more detail and it shows she did have her identification on hand and intended to comply. You can clearly see her ID and registration on the ground after she was yanked from the vehicle. She rolled her window down a crack to communicate with the officer as instructed by her dad. He admitted as much when the father arrived on the scene. The 2nd officer to show up was a school resource officer from the town's high school. He advised the arresting officer that she comes from a good family and he better have his i's dotted and t's crossed on his paperwork. Her grandfather is a retired state trooper.

When her father shows up at the scene, he explained to the officer it was him who taught her to only crack her window a few inches when pulled over.
