The problem with BI is that his scoring is not efficient. That was the criticism of him in LA. The ball sticks to his hand. Catch and shoot and cuts to the basket aren't his forte. He has to dribble a lot to score and the other players watch.

I think the issue is both of these things together.

His scoring efficiency isn't elite, but if he played within the offense more you can live with volume shooting at that efficiency. Or, if he was elite at scoring efficiency, you can live with the ball sticking.

The problem is both. A volume shooter who isn't super efficient and also is a ball stopper is just not a good combo.

Now with the emergence of Zion and having the ball in Zion's hands more and more and needing as much shooting as possible to go with Zion, BI just does not make sense.

I truly feel we can trade him in the offseason, get a lesser player, and it will be addition by subtraction.

As I've said all along, no this team is not better if BI just disappeared, but 2 things: The team doesn't get worse when he's out to a degree that you'd think with your 2nd best player. In fact, we had a higher win % in the 18 games he was out than the 64 games he played. And 2nd, this isn't about just dropping BI off the team, it's about the trade assets you can get in return. Just because he is not a fit here does not mean he has no trade value and no teams will want him. He can fetch a solid haul, hopefully a 5 that IMO will immediately make us a better team even if that player isn't as good as BI.
