Curious where you went in Kisatchie? We've gone a couple times but just to ride a few trails for the day. I marked a few cool spots for future use, one day anyway.

I don't know if I'd call it going full on overlanding but I do like the idea and lightly want to get into it as a different way to get outdoors once our kids get a little older(3 and 1 currently). Nothing serious, camping at Kisatchie, camping at Holly Beach or Rutherford Beach, etc. the occasional trip to Colorado.

I've slowly collected some stuff, I've got a big roof top tent, I've used it on a bedrack on my F250 a few times but I don't want to take that offroad much. We've got a 4Runner but I need to order a roof rack to be able to use the tent.

Just west of Georgetown from 165 to 167 there are lots of trails. Some are open only during hunting season but plenty open year round. Don’t go in a vehicle that you’d be worried about scratching up because most aren’t maintained. I have the onX off-road app to help find trails
