You two remind me of two of my best friends. Both are Republican Party travelers, but they don’t look at things from a consistent ideological standpoint. They are 2004-era platform voters. They’re bright guys who just can’t get around a narrative that’s been sold to them. It’s funny because they both talked about Romney in 2012 the same way they talk about Trump now. That is very telling, as the media has no interest in selling that narrative on Romney at this point. I have no doubt they would have voted for Mondale against Reagan in ‘84, owing to the media-pushed idea that Reagan was going to get us into a nuclear free-for-all with the soviets. It’s funny to consider that Mondale was running on the same platform as LBJ did in ‘64, while Reagan eyed a bright future. A restoration.

But that’s leftists, always fighting the last battle. Even with hindsight they pursue the wrong strategy.
