Thirteen players have accepted invitations to attend the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit, two weeks from tonight. The scheduled attendees:

The league wanted to keep it to no more than 15. The goal, per a source with knowledge of the situation, was to ensure that no one lingers too long in the green room in Detroit.
Toward that end, neither quarterback Bo Nix nor quarterback Michael Penix, Jr. was invited. The league didn’t have either, we’re told, on the projected list of the top 15 to 20 picks.
Both could still go in the top 15, given the number of teams looking for quarterbacks. As noted earlier, the betting markets have Penix as the favorite to go to the Raiders at No. 13.

Will be a good night for LSU recruiting.

13 total players and 6 of them are from LSU and Alabama.
It’s no coincidence the top 2 best programs for producing NFL talent the last 20 years are LSU and Bama.

Understandable
Draft projections for both are so volatile that they probably don't want to draw A-rod like attention when they're still sitting there

Was that a bad thing though? A-Rods drop through the 1st round was iconic.
Didn't Geno Smith show up then fire his agent that night when he didn't go in the 1st?

Now, because of what he became.
For most that it happens to, the NFL probably doesn't want to embarrass them

How about you let the player decide if he wants to go or not.
If he chooses to sit out, then so be it.

Darius Robinson is interesting. Borderline guy that might have to come back on Friday.

I do. 157 is more than 144 or 143.

I am sad we don't get to see Bo Nix and his gf awkwardly sweat on national TV for 10 hours before he is finally taken by the Saints at 45 on day 2

Ohio St. doesn’t have as many top level players as LSU and Alabama have put out the last 20 years.

In the interest of fairness, going back to the 2004 Draft (20 years)*:
Alabama - 139
Ohio State - 138 (139 if you include Pryor in the supplemental draft)
LSU - 134
*numbers per Wiki
I was working backwards and LSU was ahead of Ohio State until the 2004 class in which Ohio State had 14 players drafted (record until Georgia had 15 in '22?).
Just think, in 2003-2004 Ohio State had 14 players drafted to LSU's 7. Ohio State must have had a really good team that year. Probably won a title.
Also interesting to note that Alabama is the only one of the 3 to have a year with no players drafted (2008).
Alabama has had an equal or greater number of draft picks over Ohio State 13 of 20 years, LSU has equaled or surpassed Ohio State in 12 of 20 years.
Annoyingly, Wiki stopped listing colleges with multiple picks in 2012 so 2004-2012 I had to find myself. Lame.
