Even in real life, I haven't talked to a single person who thinks he is innocent(and I'm black).
Then why were so many black people cheering when this murderer walked free? Is it solely because he killed white people and got away with it?

The irony of the situation is that up until then he was perceived as an Uncle Tom by the black community.
He was probably the 1st black male athlete to have true cross-over appeal and at a time when old racial stereotypes were fading away.
A plethora of print & TV ads throughout the 70’s lead to acting and movie roles post his football career, MNF spot and he was a pariah amongst the black community. He wasn’t black enough for them, a black man living in a white man’s world. And let’s not even broach the subject of his dating/mating with only the most beautiful white women. Only white women were ever seen on his arm and that was publicized everywhere. Black women hated OJ for that reason and that reason alone.
I may be wrong, but it sure seemed to be a palatable vibe in the 80’s & 90’s.
