With the trade of Eddy Curry to the Knicks in 2005, the Bulls acquired the Knick's first round picks in 2006/2007.

Let's start with 2006 - ended up being the #2 overall pick and ultimately, Lamarcus Aldredge. The Bulls, in their own trading blunder, flipped that pick for #4 which turned into the disappointed that was Tyrus Thomas.

Portland won that draft in a landslide, trading up to #6 with Minnesota for Brandon Roy (that's another "what if" all in itself - a healthy Roy/Aldredge combo was deadly)

Portland still ended up with #1 the next year, and took Greg Oden - at the time that pick doesn't change, even though hindsight says Durant should have been #1. Again - damn you injuries.

What happens if Chicago keeps Aldredge? They had the Knicks 1st in 2007 as well, which ended up at #10 and Joakim Noah. A frontcourt of Aldredge/Noah is nasty to think about.

With a frontcourt like that - do they end up with Rose in 2008? Anything can happen with the draft lottery, but you'd have to think that they'd have worse odds.

And with that, does Miami end up at #1, take Rose instead of Beasley and the Heatles never happen?

You could do a what if scenario for every draft pick ever made

Ain't one player you name has been involved in a championship... except Durant and your scenario doesn't involve him

The Covid Bill Simmons NBA redrafts were great content. This reminds of them.
