Alex Garland was on The Daily Show last night. The interview came across pretty serious for a comedy show. It was a good watch.

From what I've read, if you're expecting a straight up war movie, you're going to be very disappointed. It's a war journalism movie instead.

From my understanding it’s more how about how the war affects Americans rather than just a straight up war movie

This is definitely true, but there’s also still plenty of war action. Just smaller scale.

i asked you this in the other thread, but i'm not sure if you saw it:

are there any scenes that are comparable to the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan? that might be a bit of a stretch.

I find Garland's writing/directing and the editors he chooses are very efficient when it comes to not wasting the audiences time. Except for the ending of Men. I dont know WTF was going on there.

Tim Poole just saw it. Apparently, Trump (basically) is president, he has disbanded the FBI and DC is held by white supremacist stormtroopers. The boogaloo boys shoot at the cops, rednecks are everywhere, the only extremists the main characters encounter are right wingers, the military force that restores order is comically diverse and they kill pseudo-Trump in the White House.

It's basically The Godfather for pink haired psycho retards.

He's a fence sitter, not a right winger. He's kind of a dickhead, but I don't think he and his entire panel were all making up facts from the movie, like characters, events, etc.

Their opinion was that it was kind of slow and boring, but the actual things that happen in the movie are the same for us all, not an opinion.

And you're the lefty cheerleading homo in every thread.

Yeah, I'm sure his whole panel, as well as the reviewers I've heard since, are all just making it up.
