What they have to do is what Trump did yesterday, which was seen as "pro choice" by the people I argue should be marginalized.
The GOP has to become declared moderates on this issue, and they can't let the extremist religious zealots with martyrdom complexes anywhere near the discussion. The problem for the GOP (not as much Trump) is that they need these Evangelicals to win a great number of their elections.
That's where the GOP is in a pickle.

You are going to marginalize the Republicans most consistent voting block.
Evangelicals held their nose on some stuff and showed up because republicans are pro life. Trump has a spell on some so he may get excused for it but if the party shifts they will lose.
They won’t go to the democrats they just won’t show up to vote.
