I have gotten my accent confused with New York on several occasions while out of town. Grew up in Metry, my dad is from the Wank and mom from the city.
People from out of town at first think its NY then are confused because a slight southern thing creeps in.
The Marisa Tomei is far too extreme to be confused with a NOLA one, though. NOLA accent is much more subtle than that

ETA: The best Cajun accents are in the movie Southern Comfort. NOLA is a tough one. I guess you'd have to go with Harry Connick Jr. in Memphis Belle, but that's kind of cheating.
