Yep.

He's a throwback NBA center in a style of play that really doesn't exist anymore. If you are an NBA center you have to be able to handle the ball a bit, score in more ways that simply with your back to the basket, and shoot 3's reasonably well, along with blocking shots. Purdue hasn't asked Edey to do much of that.

You can't "coach" 7'4". So he's worth a draft pick. Maybe even a late first round pick for a team with multiple first rounders and no glaring need on the roster. But the days of Ralph Sampson and Patrick Ewing, where Edey would be the clear #1 pick, are long gone.

There may be no other major sport where the difference in skill level is so vast than the NBA vs college basketball.

Ya’ll love to say shoot 3’s well and yes everyone in the NBA shoots better than years past, but there’s plenty of guys in the nba that don’t shoot well beyond the arc.

Edey may be a bench player or bust, idk. But he’s the most completely dominant center in college basketball in a long time.
