If you want to send your child to a private school, you now have an opportunity. If you want to send your kid to a public school, you can send them there. It’s called school choice for a reason. It forces public schools to either improve or lose students to private schools that accept ESAs. Private schools won’t necessarily increase their prices because of this.
You’re naive to think private schools don’t raise their prices annually be certain percentage. You can see tangible benefits from these increases. People who send their kids to private school care more about their children’s education than public school. When you have real skin in the game you want results.
The is the best piece of legislation to come out of this session. Of course I see a lot of jealous or envious people in here trying to keep the status quo of shitty schools in LA. The only way to attract business/better jobs is through this type of legislation. As is evident from this thread, most of you are public educated citizens of Louisiana are too stupid to understand that.

In theory, but parents who might not care as much will send their kids to private school because they can. And what happens if some of these private schools have a bigger increase that they can handle? Will they pay the same as public schools to get teachers? Not all private schools are equal.

Before you get too cocky lets see how it works first.

Exactly. It's precisely why private schools work. They don't have better teachers, textbooks, facilities, etc. They have a community of parents who care.
Using someone else's tax dollars is the exact opposite of having skin in the game.

Are you in line for the funds? Those funds need to go to public schools and those crappy parents and kids held responsible for those schools and education. No private school will put up with it. Maybe some parochial schools, but not good, private schools and their donors.

How? The students that remain in public school are those whose parents are too poor to afford private school (even with GATOR scholarship) and kids with behavioral issues or learning disabilities that private schools aren't forced to accept. At the end of the day, public and private schools play by different sets of rules.
You can't kneecap public schools and expect them to improve.
