I tried to get into destiny 2 maybe 6 months back. I’ve heard other people say this same complaint as me it’s just not hospitable to a new player in the slightest.

If you take a 4-5 month break, its barely hospitable. I haven't played in a few months and the idea of going back is, well, "where do I start". Bungie changes the weapons, armor, and attributes so much, I wouldn't even know what a good build is anymore. I'm itching to go back but I don't want to play catch up with all the stuff I didn't do over the last two seasons. It seems daunting.

Yeah I like the idea of destiny. I don’t really like the general silly nature of most hero shooters nor do I want to be t he giga Chad rainbow 6 extraction only guy Destiny has this kind of casual PvPvE appeal to at a glance but it’s soooo convoluted lol

Like check their extras tab on steam and all the bundles and packs and crap it’s like trying to do nuclear fission

I just got back into it after a year and a half off. It's fine for PvP still without paying attention to all the BS. You can still compete with a shite tier build. Endgame PvE is impossible without all the crazy build stuff.

That said, I only have 220 hours in it and I thought that was a lot

Sandbox hasn't changed that much and build philosophy is still the same. You'd be fine.
