Been here since 1982.

Of course there is a difference depending on highway and time of day but “wide open” is a ridiculous statement.

Where do you live?

In the mornings I’m going 80 mph Mon Wed Fri on 75 and 85 while people are going 15 mph coming inbound. In the afternoons I’m going 70 mph southbound while people are going 20 mph northbound. It’s been this way ever since I moved to the city. Sorry you have different experiences.

This is where knowing the surface streets inside the city can make a huge difference.

I visited my sister 2 Fridays ago. She lives in West Midtown off of Howell Mill. When I left her place, I was.going to get on 75 at Howell Mill. Nope. It was clogged and not moving. So I immediately use the service road to get to Northside Drive, take that to Marietta St, through Downtown to Courtland and through Georgia State, turn onto Capitol Ave.just before Grady, and get back on the Connector at Washington St. Home in 45 minutes.

It helps tremendously to know surface Streets. Nobody takes the time to do so.
