I still remember in one of the very few candidate forums Landry appeared for, at the LMA one, when all the candidates were asked if they were in favor of decentralizing government and power away from Baton Rouge, Gov Landry completely dodge the intent of the question and gave some speech about needing to be tough on crime.
Tells you all you need to know. Either, he’d never even considered that aspect of government, or he had, and he knew he wanted as much control as possible to be retained in Baton Rouge.
