High School theater, debate, etc? Middle school? T-ball? Local pickle ball tournament? At the start of church service? Don’t you want proof the priest is a patriot?

It’s just a game. The game doesn’t really matter.

I’m that y’all are really up in arms about players showing respect to our own country. Just wow.

Taxpayers support that institution.

Not that it really matters, but the athletic department is self-funded.

These are students that need to be taken down a peg. They are not the end-all-be-all and the world doesn’t revolve around them.

You realize it’s not the players making the decision right? The players are following the staff’s pregame routine.

Which is part of the reason Landry’s suggestion that players lose scholarships is.. asinine. Even if he didn’t know the full story when he fired off his initial tweet, it’s a near certainty that he knew before he doubled down on national TV and then tripled down in his letter.

You seem to have it backwards, sir. Nobody is going to be upset if pregame routines get changed so that players are on the field for the anthem. All they would have to do is play the national anthem immediately prior to kickoff/tip off/etc. instead of burying it in the pregame activities.

People are upset that Jeff Landry threw LSU athletics under the bus for some national political brownie points, turning a story that would have simply gone away (as it has countless times for countless other programs doing the exact same thing) into something much bigger.

LSU fans didn’t make a big deal out of this. Jeff Landry did.

If they are out there, they are out there bro. If not, cool, because my money was spent on them playing their best and hopefully winning. I didn’t spend my money for anything to do with the anthem. I enjoy the anthem and seeing the crowd signing and whoever the singer is but I don’t get off or get pissed if I notice someone isn’t out there (the team). I don’t care about the dude in the beer line that just farted during the anthem either.

It’s just a game, exactly! So WTF does a game have to do with showing respect to our country. A game and respect for our country have no relationship with one another.

And why games? specifically at college and pro level and only for 3-4 sports where we have this discussion. Why? because your local culture war politician who isn’t doing shite, is now getting your donation because he jedi mind fricked you to forget about our shitty state and all its problems and the money he’s putting in his friends pockets. He has basically admitted he isn’t doing shite for us based on this action other than fighting over anthems, probably some transgender thing coming soon, and then we’ll be worrying about Texas/Arizona and Mexico border.

Your existence and people like you prevent progress in our country as you’re too dumb to hold authority accountable.
