one of my kenyan teammates was jumped/robbed walking from the library to the house he lived in across louisville from campus. im sure reddit wouldve been insanely quick to label it a racist white doing the beating. it was the typical thug trash that lives in that neighborhood.

I never encountered anyone that struck me as racist in monroe city limits. now the sticks outside of monroe thats a different story. Had some clowns in trucks yell crap at our kenyans when wed go on runs out there. but that clientele isnt likely to be in downtown monroe on a saturday night. Especially around stangs.

I know the area. In the early 90s me and some buddies rented a house on the corner of Grammont street. The area wasn't bad then, a lot of college students renting places and some working black families. Every once in a while we might hear gunfire across the tracks (but that shite stayed there).

I drove through there a year or two ago during the daytime. I don't know if it's my being older and wiser or not, but the area looked sketchy af.
