Who doesn’t want to pay double for a takeout order then give 20% to the driver?

Exactly, the take out and delivery thing went a bit too far.

I harshly judge people that use these services. There are special cases, such as a business working lunch that I can understand, but if you’re paying double for cold take out (especially fast food) then you need to address your own laziness and poor money management.

Just something I heard, so not necessarily fact, but supposedly at some point they also went way up on the fees or percentage take for restaurants to participate in their services/program.

I ordered KFC a while back to try out Door Dash.
$36 dollars including tip but since it was the first order delivery was "free". Would have been over $40 for an order that was probably around $22 at the drive through,
frick that.

We went to a local Chinese place Sat night for the dinner. We were one of only two tables being served at the restaurant.
During the hour or so we were there, we counted at least 10 different take out orders, all of whom seemed to be a delivery app of some kind. (Determined by the person getting the order putting the food into a warming bag usually with a logo on it.)
There was one front of house employee who was waiting on the two tables, and also handing out the delivery orders.
