lightning in a bottle? seriously?
this is his 9th season as a head coach for a power 5 team.
he's been to Omaha 3 times.
the CWS finals twice.
lightning in a bottle would be a guy that sucks complete monkey arse the entire rest of his career with one complete outlier getting to the promised land.
Jay has proven that he can get teams there on multiple occasions.
Jay has proven he can get to the title round on more than one occasion.
Jay has proven he CAN win when he gets there.
Jay is a damn good coach.
his record speaks for itself.

Do you know the definition of lighting in a bottle?

I know it’s still early but to keep losing like this is very concerning. Maybe he will be like Maneri where he wins a title early then never wins one again. But I hope I’m wrong.

Nah. He inherited a very poor roster by lsu standards. Especially on the pitching side. Like lsu football in 19’, graduated a very large portion of the starters. That’s hard to just replace.
Only difference is this team is competing its arse off with some very good teams. And will be better for it at the end of the season.
The recruiting pipeline is full, too. Zero concerns

If you look up a picture of lightning in a bottle, you’ll see a picture of Ed Orgeron.

Every NC baseball coach does IMO. It’s very difficult.

What is wrong with you people? I don’t get the ignorance

Like MSU, Coastal Carolina, Ole Miss
Would you prefer never winning it?

Going forward I think he’ll learn to tamp down expectations whenever he has a team that lost so much production from the previous year.

Have you ever tried to catch lightning in a bottle? Stop downplaying what he did.
