DEI strikes again in the maintenance department, manufacturing or both?

Not sure if we're just hearing about more things now but there seems to be a major competency problem currently across all industries in this country.

This stuff is more common that you think. Just think its getting more attention now for whatever reason.

Something fishy about the way all of these issues are being reported. Don't get me wrong, I'm not upset that it's being reported, but these kinds of mishaps have always happened.
I always assume there's an agenda when it comes to how stories and themes are spun up.
My take on it is that there's an organized push to make people uncomfortable with flying. We already know there are pilot shortages and airlines are having a hard time with fulfilling their commitments.
Just rest assured that in the end the consumer loses.

I hate the DEI crap, but also hate how every time there is an issue with a plane, we all say DEI. Do you actually know if the part was assembled, manufactured, or maintenace performed by a DEI hire?
Makes us anti-DEI folks sound ignorant...

I am pretty conservative and feel like most of DEI is ridiculous, but blaming every maintenance issue on it is silly. These airplanes run almost continually. Things break.

Important to note that, according to the linked story, this was an AirBus A330. Not Boeing this time.

Currently on a flight, could have been me.
Most of these maintenance items have to be reported, this is likely just the media picking and choosing to report more articles that sound like fear porn.

I am going to wait for Stout to create the official thread on this, you are stealing his jam.

From Utah all the way over to the Netherlands...that must be a pretty damn long flight.

Or maybe a white guy who has high, or lazy? Or maybe he was using tools that were held together with duct tape because corporate too cheap to buy new tools?
Or maybe the part was cheap Chinese crap that lasted 10% of expected life, or didn't fit properly?
