Nothing happens. The league is still too small. I think the total number of teams in the Big East hurts their at large bids. With only 11 schools, i think they need one more quality round of expansion. Dayton, VCU and Loyola Chicago should be added to get to 14 schools. Gets the Big East into 3 good markets of Chicago, Dayton and Richmond. Adds 3 quality basketball programs that all have Final Four appearances in their history. I think these 3 would get the Big East to a point where the league schedule top to bottom, would be seen as more on par with other power leagues. Its clearly a VERY worthy and top heavy league, but it needs more QUALITY programs in the middle.

*UConn (33-3)
*Marquette (27-9)
*Creighton (25-9)
*Dayton (25-8)
VCU (24-13)
Loyola Chicago (23-10)
Seton Hall (22-12)
Providence (21-14)
St John's (20-13)
Villanova (18-16)
Butler (18-15)
Xavier (16-18)
Georgetown (9-23)
DePaul (3-29)

If this was the current Big East make up...it would have gotten 8 bids. * represents NCAA selection.

Good edit

I agree those would be solid adds for them though, assuming all 3 programs would want to make the move.

Big East already has Chicago. Plus, DePaul would fight tooth-and-nail against adding Loyola.
