Old time sack of oysters. A “ full sack” , usually an old coffee sack. 80-100 pounds. Is what I always called them.

I got them for $4 a pound on Saturday in Kingwood but they posted that is would be at least $5 for this weekend, but it looks like everyone is out now and if they get any more it would be $5.50.

That's a decent price if a full sack since these so-called half sacks they are now selling finds you lucky to get 7 dozen oysters in them and the last time I checked, they were mid $60 range plus tax.
Old school full sacks (100 lbs.) usually had between 20-22 dozen oysters in them depending on the size of the oysters. Last full sack I was able to get cost me $45, and that was at least 10 years ago now.

I can see Jesus pounding shrimp and skipping crawfish during the Last Supper honestly. He's a patient dude, but peeling 8# of bugs for 1# of meat is a waste of time even for the Lord of Lords.

Jesus fed 5000 with just five loaves of bread and two fish, he can manage.

Then maybe I should let him cater my next crawfish boil for 50 people. All he'd need is a small pail of crawfish and a 6 pack and it should all be good.

Did he though? I mean, he's Jesus. Why not just manifest an amazing AYCE charcuterie board complete w some nice, full bodied water wine?

From you.
You asked a question. I answered you. Then you come back and correct me with the answer I gave you. Before you were born we would get 100 pound sacks of oysters, As I said in an old coffee sack.
You can’t buy a sack of oysters of off a boat in Louisiana legally anymore.

Correct.
What’s your point?
Not sure what you’re trying to argue about.

He was a Jew, and Jews were not allowed to eat shellfish.

They're 4.50/lb on the Northshore and that's at Winn Dixie. Well frick that. I'm not paying that much for something that crawls out of a frickin' mud puddle.
