I’m assuming he means US mainline crash in which case he’s right. AA587 2 months and 1 day after 9/11 crashed in Queens after takeoff from JFK when the idiot FO ripped the vertical stabilizer off by slamming the rudder back and forth during wake turbulence.
There’s been regional subsidiary crashes since then like Comair 5191 in 2006 in Lexington, KY where the idiot pilots tried to take off before sunrise from a closed, unlit runway. And Colgan Air 3407 in 2009 where the pilots stalled the plane in severe icing conditions going into Buffalo.
Air travel has been remarkably safe in the US in the 2000s. Though seems like we’re flirting with disaster.
