You have people like McConnell, McCarthy, Ryan, Cantor, Crenshaw etc that don't understand that they are the enemy.
Yet, you have to work with them if you want anything passed. I totally get the frustration though, but in a two party system you have to solve intraparty strife to reach common goals or youre just done before you start.

Tucked in the massive government funding package signed Saturday by President Biden is a provision banning the flying of LGBTQ Pride flags over U.S. embassies. But even on the same day Mr. Biden signed the package, the White House vowed to work toward repealing the provision.

As Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson, a conservative Christian, scrambled for votes to get the bill passed in his chamber, he allegedly touted the Pride flag ban as a reason his party should support the bill, the Daily Beast reported.
Johnson got what he wanted, while I like it, it comes at the expense of bankruptcy.

Trump changed the game by demanding that the border issue not be solved this year. Kind of removed the option to tie the two together right off the table.

IF it’s actually true or completely accurate that Trump did indeed send a communique to Johnson and/or other Republican higher ups in Congress (which oftentimes things aren’t true, which surely you’ve noticed here lately)…….if that were true, my question to you would be whether you think Trump had any particular reason(s) for that move -and- if so what would your guess be what they might be?

Donald is intentionally compromising our safety and security to win an election?
Always putting himself above the country

That reason would be so he can wield it as a weapon on the campaign trail. He can't effectively hammer Joe Biden with the border issue if Biden can immediately point to a bipartisan deal to address it.

They need to get their riches before Trump gets back in office.
Members of Congress are still going to make their grift money whether it's Trump or Biden in the White House next year. To think simply Donald Trump getting a second term is going to end that, you're delusional.

Fair enough, but I think most of MAGA and conservatives outside of MAGA were happy with Johnson being named speaker, based on his positions and voting record. He has been an unpleasant surprise so far though.
He doesn't have the votes in Congress to do what many hard line conservatives amongst the voting population really want to see happen. It's that simple.
For those who think Johnson now needs to be booted as House Speaker, who do you want to be put in that can ALSO actually get the votes to be named House Speaker?
I'm not sure that question has been answered ever since MTG started headline grabbing charade.

So he intentionally sabotaged it and wants to continue to allow this country to be “invaded by military age males” as this board likes to say in order to win an election?
Sounds worse and more dangerous than the plandemic

Well, I keep hearing from Libs and even Trump supporters that Trump was a huge spender
so let's not act like the government is going to shape up its act under TRump
the corrupt machine is too big to control
-we're going down...it's jut a matter of delaying the inevitable .
