But you can avoid using both youtube and google search. Is there a way to use Android without Google/Alphabet and without google collecting your usage data ?

It is difficult with iPhones, but known google services, downloads, and servers can be blocked. The stuff google goes oops my bad when caught like collecting WiFi data while doing street view pics and whatever they did to hack cookies on iOS Safari is likely still happening, but that just shows where the larger problem really is.

Apple can be avoided much more easily and completely than Google.

Google is not my default. I use DuckDuckGo.
