I have 3 NP's, and they are all great. They are very patient centered and know when to get me. I would love to hire a good young doctor, but have yet to find one I'd hire over my NP's. Giving a shite and listening to the patient is extremely important. I can teach someone that's willing and cares. I can't help lazy, entitled MD's that are in primary care because they couldn't do anything else. Medicine is becoming more and more of a shite show everyday.

this is such a played out stereotype. some people actually go to medical school WANTING to do primary care and they are the salt of the earth
Patients will never understand the limited amount of knowledge and NP/PA have compared to physicians. The push to have you see a midlevel is done by healthcare execs to save money and see more patients.
I'm glad the NP/PA make all of you feel better by holding your hands, but if you're looking for expertise then go see a physician. It's not even close.
