Reed’s problems are all mental. He has all the physical tools and skill to be a good SEC player.. but then you see him play (and this is especially more evident if you watch him in person) and you can see the mental lapses he has on the court.

It’s like he’s zoned out, or high, or something. He just stares at players blow by him and then jumps after it’s too late. Stares at the ball sailing in mid air and doesn’t react to a rebound. It’s infuriating.

Williams is really good. He’s the type of player I like, high motor, good defender, flashes of offensive ability. He’s going to be a good player for the next few years. He’s ahead of the curve imo as some sites only had him as a 3*.

Ward and Williams would benefit from a PG than can shoot. They can easily slack off Hannibal on defense and help with double teams and driving lanes. Love Hannibal but he can be a liability on offense. Reed is the biggest disappointment. 6'10" and ZERO rebounds last nigh. ZERO. Baker had 1. That is not acceptable at this level. have a couple of nice recruits coming in. Hopefully Chest is as advertised and Collins can make the jump. Need a couple of more athletic bigs to rebound/rim protect and veteran PG that can also shoot and take care of the ball. maybe Carlos Stewart comes back healthy and adds to the scoring options. But the portal is key to Mcmahons success next year, no doubt about that.

Ward showed the biggest improvement from last year. But you also have to wonder whether that was "improvement" or really just what he could always do, but not given much opportunity to play significant minutes until the very end of last season. It was incredibly frustrating to watch LSU get blown out time and time again last season, yet Ward wasted away on the bench until the game was clearly out of hand. In the last 9-10 games of the season he started playing 20+ minutes and was a 38%-40% 3 point shooter...which is not that far off from where he was this year at 41%

I'm sure the usual suspects will disagree, but I don't think Reed improved much from last season. The same issues that were there last year were there this season. At times he was dominant and you saw the flashes of potential greatness. Then, like you said, FAR too many times it looked like he was zoned out, or high, or something.

Williams had his share of freshman moments. But I think most would agree he outperformed his expectations and looks like he could be a good player going forward. Of course, part of that was because McMahon had little choice but to play him early with Cook ineligible. It's surprising how guys may be able to get better when they actually get significant minutes to gain experience.

Chest is TBD because McMahon chose to redshirt him I guess to develop him for that 5th year...that he'll never play at LSU.
