Maybe.

Haiti and Haitians have been exploited for so long now. It was literally impossible for Haiti to build infrastructure once it finally earned its independence due to the reparations it owed its former slaves owners/colonizers.

Haiti Independence Debt

Louisiana just keeps selling itself out to corporations that exploit our natural resources, much like colonizers exploited Haiti’s natural resource. We just do it willingly then act confused why the state that houses cancer alley is losing population annually.
