I'd venture to say the difference between a place like Nola and St. Louis is once you leave the inner city of St. Louis, you're probably fine. Once you leave the city limits of Nola, you're still not fine. It's not like the suburbs of Nola are a beacon of peace.

Of that 40.6%, 1.35% involved tourists and 8.35% involved normal law abiding citizens going about their day.

Also, I’m curious what kind of violent/property crime rate (rape, armed robbery, car jacking, car break ins, home invasions) NOLA has compared to other US cities.
