If this guy that wrote the article got very little traffic, he wouldn’t be given the opportunity to continue writing. Just like a business. His shop would be closed.

I get what you're saying, but there's a balance. Anyone can write an article on Medium about nearly any subject. The supply will only increase if the demand increases, and the demand is measured by clicks and views.
Sometimes the best weapon is to ignore them.
